And, his mother's state of mind apart, Edward, at 20, was at the age when serious psychotic symptoms most commonly first appear. <br />I look forward to reading the book and, possibly, exploring more of Richard Cobb's writing. But I couldn't help wishing I could put a full account of the trial alongside it, to see what he had decided to keep, and what to alter. The review of Cobb's book (when it came out in 1985) in the London Review of Books by Julian Barnes says:<br />"When Cobb’s book was extracted in the Observer a few weeks ago, the former manager of the Dublin Gate Theatre wrote to propose an additional trigger for the crime.
